As an
After serving 24 years in the Police Force of Hong Now, the latter part of that period Inspector I was in 1898, Grantect a pension by the Right Honourable secretary of state for the Colonies, on Con-
dition that I ceased to reside in the Colony.
On account. of my family affairs,
I obtained permission
from His Excellency, fir Dr. Blake The Governor of Itong romp to continue to reside in the Colony until the end of April 1900.
I left the Colony on the 147 of April, 1900, in the B.P. Massilia with my wife and three

for England. Before my departure, I drew my pension due from the date of me the
